Halogen light bulbs are a more advanced type of incandescent bulbs. They can be both low-voltage for voltages up to 24 volts, and high-voltage ones - up to 220 volts. Before you begin installing a stretch ceiling with spots, you need to determine how to position the light sources. The main criterion that affects the placement of spots on the ceiling space is the shape and area of the room, its zoning. The layout of the fixtures on the ceiling is individual for each room, but there are several main types of layout:

The oval shape is more often used when the spots act as additional lighting to the chandelier located in the middle of the ceiling. Due to this scheme, the corners of the room are evenly lit.
The scheme in the form of a circle will be the best solution for a square room. The result with this arrangement is the same as from the previous scheme.

The arrangement of spots in the form of two semicircles is a typical solution for lighting the room along the edges. Also requires installation of the main light source.
To highlight the working area, which needs maximum lighting or the other most significant part of the room, you can use the scheme in the form of an arc.

To place emphasis on the corners of the room, you should choose the layout of the built-in lights called focus.
If the room has a non-standard shape, then it is worth giving preference to the arrangement in the form of a wave.

The diagram in the form of a rectangle assumes the location of lighting devices around the perimeter of the room. This solution will visually increase the area of the room.
If the room does not intend to use a chandelier, then you can arrange spotlights in the form of a cross.

You can use the proposed options or come up with your own plan for the arrangement of light sources, but it is worth considering that for effective lighting of the room it is necessary to install spots at the rate of one device per two square meters of ceiling.

Mounting Methods

It is recommended to mount the base for the fixtures before installing the tensile structure, and the installation of spots should be carried out already on the finished ceiling. Wiring must also be laid before stretching the ceiling. Before starting work, it is absolutely necessary to de-energize the room.

There are three ways to install spotlights on suspended ceilings. Choosing the appropriate mounting method should be based on the design features of the spot. All of them do not differ in the complexity of fastening, however, in case of uncertainty in their capabilities, it is better to seek help from specialists.

Pendant lighting fixtures must be hooked. There are already special hooks in the ceiling tiles, but if necessary, you can place the hook in any other place. In the area of the hook on the canvas, a special thermal ring should be glued, the size of which is inferior to the decorative element of the spot. Inside the ring, you must remove the stretched material and install the hook. Then you need to pull out the wiring through the hole, and place the lamp on the hook. The wires of the lamp should be connected to the wiring and insulated, then hide them in a niche and tightly put on the decorative part of the lamp.

Recessed single-cartridge designs are best mounted on an adjustable rack. When the baguettes for the tensile structure are installed, you should fix the rack and lay the wiring. Then a ceiling is installed, in which later thermowells should be installed at the platform locations. The spot must be inserted into the hole. When using this method of fastening, do not forget to leave a distance of 10 cm between the stretched canvas and the concrete slab.

An ideal option for mounting overhead spotlights is mounting on a supporting platform. The algorithm for installing luminaires in this way is similar to the method of mounting on a rack, only instead, a platform is attached to the base of the ceiling. The thermal ring must be placed on the stretched fabric in the mortgage zone. Then, as in other methods, the film is removed from the center of the ring, after which it is necessary to fasten the bar to the mortgage. Then you should connect the wires, and then put the main part of the lamp onto special studs and fix it well.

When connecting ceiling spotlights, a parallel method of connecting electrical wires should be preferred. In this case, if one ceiling spot fails, electricity will not disappear immediately in the entire apartment.
