7 best dishwashers

The choice of a dishwasher for the home, in our opinion, is a rather simple task: you do not need to compare models by dozens of parameters, and most of these parameters themselves will turn out to be simple and intuitive.

However, as in most cases, before proceeding with the selection, you will have to decide whether you need one or another function from among the declared ones. This will not only help to minimize the number of specific models, among which you will need to make the final choice, but also, perhaps, help not to overpay for unnecessary options.

As always in our guides on the choice of technology, we try to avoid value judgments and direct advice, preferring this option of teaching the user self-selection skills. Thus, our task is to tell you what dishwashers are, how they differ and how these differences can affect the operation process.

Type and size

As you know, among kitchen appliances, you can most often find a width of 45 and 60 centimeters. Dishwashers were no exception: the vast majority of them are either “narrow” (with a width of 45-50 cm) or “full-sized” (with a width of 60 cm). The height of both of them will be about 85 centimeters, and in most cases it can be adjusted by changing the length of the legs: this will fix the built-in dishwasher directly under the countertop. The depth and the vast majority of dishwashers are standard - 60 cm. The key difference between a full-size and narrow dishwasher is the amount of dishes that can be washed at a time. A narrow dishwasher will fit on average 9-10 sets of dishes, in a full-sized one - up to 16.

Compact dishwashers are worth highlighting in a separate category. They, like older brothers, are either freestanding or built-in. The height of such a dishwasher will be about 45 centimeters, which can significantly save space. The capacity of compact models is from one to five sets of dishes.

Choosing the type of dishwasher (built-in or freestanding) is usually a matter of taste. Moreover, it is often possible to save on freestanding equipment - usually it will cost a little cheaper. A built-in or partially built-in dishwasher (with an open control panel located on the outside of the door) will require the purchase of an overhead kitchen facade, which will allow it to "fit" into the overall kitchen interior, and a fully built-in dishwasher to completely “hide” among kitchen cabinets.

But the size of the device is better to choose based on the number of people living in the apartment, and based on the preferred scenario for using the dishwasher. Even if only one person lives in the apartment, the options may be different: some are used to having a couple of plates and washing dishes daily, while others prefer to have a large supply of clean dishes, which allows you to run the dishwasher less often.

Capacity and organization of internal space

Dishwasher manufacturers usually evaluate their capacity in “sets”. This obvious parameter will tell you how many dishes fit in the dishwasher at maximum load. The minimum that is presented on the modern market is 4 sets of dishes. Maximum - 17 sets.

A set is a set of cutlery for one person of seven objects: a plate for salad, a plate for the first dish, a plate for the second dish, a bread plate, a cup or saucer for dessert, two spoons or two forks.

Such an assessment is convenient because it allows you to compare different models of different manufacturers with each other, but it is quite far from reality: you probably noticed that we’re not talking about glasses, mugs, pans and pans at all - but in reality they can take more than 50 % of the volume of the dishwasher.

The smallest table-mounted dishwashers are most easily arranged: they most often have one retractable basket, in which a separate basket for cutlery is installed.

All the rest - narrow or wide, freestanding or built-in dishwashers, as a rule, has one of two layouts: classic or modern.

Not so long ago, as an alternative to the classic layout, a variant with three baskets began to be used: lower, middle and upper.

The role of the lower basket has not changed, the upper one is now middle, and at the very top there is a horizontal retractable tray that replaces the cutlery basket - if they were installed vertically in the basket, now they are horizontally placed on the tray.

As far as we know, there are no serious studies proving that the modern layout is more effective than the classical one in terms of washing dishes - no. However, most manufacturers are gradually abandoning the classic layout. In our experience, this is more likely not more efficient, but more convenient - it’s easier to evenly place cutlery on the tray.

On the other hand, adding another horizontal tray to the design “steals” the height. Some users who changed the dishwasher with a classic layout to a modern one complained that earlier the lower basket allowed the installation of higher objects.

The middle (upper) basket may be height adjustable.

Also in expensive dishwashers of the premium segment there may be very unusual (but very convenient from the point of view of the user) solutions. For example, the rising lower basket, which allows not to bend over the dishes and when laying them.

The ways of laying the dishes depend on the specific model and the design of its baskets, and, unfortunately, with a quick look at the dishwasher in the store or on the site, you are unlikely to appreciate (and even less compare) their convenience. Practice shows that in this case, more likely a person over time adapts to the technique than vice versa.

Whether the dishes are washed up badly or well, depends, among other things, on how correctly they are laid. Experienced dishwasher owners hone this skill for years, and when changing the model, sometimes you have to start all over again.

Many models will have holders or separate shelves for fragile glasses, special rubber nozzles for fragile dishes, and the like. It is clear that not all of them will be useful and find application, however, when choosing a dishwasher, it will not be superfluous to ask how exactly the manufacturer decided to improve your experience in operating the device.

Washing

The washing class is a rather difficult category to understand, which is determined using test tests - the control washing of specially contaminated dishes. If the dishes are perfectly clean, the machine is assigned class A. Class C corresponds to "slight contamination."

In fact, the vast majority of models on the market have a class A or B, while we are far from certain whether the user can distinguish them in real, not laboratory, conditions.

Almost all dishwashers (except for miniature tabletops) are now equipped with three water sprayers - lower, middle and upper. The lower one is usually the largest. The classic design is a rotating “rocker” with holes from which water pours under pressure.

However, there are more exotic designs. For example, Electrolux in dishwashers of the middle and high price segment uses this version of the lower sprayer.

The average sprinkler is usually a smaller "rocker" and is located under the upper (middle) basket.

The top is located on the ceiling of the washing chamber. At best, this is another rocker.

But sometimes for the sake of simplicity they put the usual spray nozzle.

To summarize: in general, the identity of the design most often provides the identity of the result: most modern dishwashers wash dishes about the same. There is even an opinion (although we do not have objective evidence of its correctness) that now the washing efficiency depends more on the right means than on the dishwasher.

True, the inquiring minds of engineers constantly come up with something new - well, for example, like the original design of the lower sprinkler mentioned above.

And, of course, if you are a perfectionist, it’s better to have a “rocker” standing on top, and not a nozzle. At least for some reason we met nozzles only in budget models.

Drying

But the drying class will be much easier to understand: class A means perfectly dry dishes, classes B and C correspond to slightly wet dishes. Note that today it will not be so easy to meet dishwashers with drying class C or D - they are quite rare. In this case, drying itself can be carried out by two different methods: condensation or using a turbo-dryer.

Cheaper machines usually use the condensation method, in which the dishes are rinsed with hot water, after which the droplets of water evaporate, condense on the walls of the chamber and flow down. This process takes a lot of time. Expensive dishwashers use a turbo dryer, which means blowing dishes with warm air using a special fan. This method will be faster and more efficient.

Not so long ago, a new function appeared: in dishwashers with condensation drying, at the end of washing, automatically open the door so that the drying process becomes faster. This is a logical and correct idea, therefore, ceteris paribus, a dishwasher with such a function looks preferable.

Filter cleaning

There is a filter in any dishwasher - as a rule, it is located approximately in the middle of the bottom of the washing chamber. From time to time it needs to be removed and washed by hand from grease and food debris. If you made a cult of your own laziness or are simply squeamish, it makes sense for you to look for a model with a "self-cleaning" filter - it does not require manual washing.

But, frankly, our built-in skeptic does not yet believe that “self-cleaning” will be as effective as manual cleaning.

Energy and water consumption

Since we are talking about different classes, it would not be superfluous to mention the energy consumption class. Here the exact same scale is adopted, with the exception that the highest class is A ++ (modern dishwashers have become much more economical than those models based on the parameters of which the highest class A was once calculated). The higher the class, the less energy your machine will spend.

More understandable for the user is such a parameter as “energy consumption per cycle”, with which you can easily calculate how much electricity the machine will spend, for example, during daily work for a month.

In addition, a standard water flow rate for a standard program is indicated for each machine. Economical are models with a water consumption of up to 15 liters per cycle, medium-sized machines will spend up to 20 liters, which in any case will be less than when washing dishes by hand.

Separately, it should be noted dishwashers, connected not only to cold, but also to hot water. Due to the use of already heated water for washing dishes (the required temperature is obtained by mixing hot water with cold water), they can significantly reduce energy consumption. On the other hand, some housewives of such machines complain that the dishes are less clean due to the lower quality of hot water in the water supply.

Control and display

Modern dishwashers operate under the control of an electronic system that includes a set of buttons (mechanical or touch) and, possibly, a display with which the machine will “communicate” with the user. The display usually shows the selected program and the current state of the machine (time until the end of the program, error code in the event of a malfunction, etc.). It is hardly worth explaining that machines with a display will be more convenient to operate, but also more expensive (compared to models without a display).

The absence of a display is often compensated by the presence of LED indicators corresponding to various operating modes of the device. They, as a rule, are responsible for indicating the presence of salt and rinse aid.

Separately, it is worth mentioning that many dishwashers have a special indicator that is projected onto the floor. For built-in dishwashers, it is a beam indicator that allows you to understand when the dishwashing process has finished without opening the door: the beam glows while the machine is working and goes out (or changes color) when the program ends.

A more advanced display option involves projecting onto the floor the parameters of the selected program (for example, the exact time remaining until the work is completed).

It is also worth paying attention to the presence or absence of a built-in backlight. The backlight of the camera makes the process of loading and unloading dishes more comfortable.

Programs and Features

On the one hand, the availability of special programs can be a decisive factor when choosing one or another model of a dishwasher. On the other hand, a lot of users do not use all the features provided, I use two or three modes (as a rule - fast / normal / enhanced washing).

Nevertheless, it makes sense to list the most common programs and features that a modern dishwasher can offer.

  • Automatic program - the machine itself selects the optimal mode, washing the dishes until it finds it clean. As a rule, the degree of contamination of dishes in automatic mode is determined using a water transparency sensor.
  • Bio-program - a program for working with detergents, incorporating special bioadditives, designed to combat fat and protein contaminants,
  • Quick wash - a program for washing lightly soiled dishes,
  • Intensive washing - a program for heavy soiling. Differs in the increased temperature and the increased time. Suitable for pots, pans and utensils with dried leftovers:
  • Delicate sink - suitable for thin glassware (e.g. glasses) that does not tolerate high temperatures,
  • An economical program - dishes with small impurities can be washed at a temperature of 50-55 ° C, which will save up to 20% -25% of electricity during washing,
  • Rinsing is a special program designed to rinse the dishes placed in the dishwasher without washing them. This is necessary if you plan to start the washing process later, having added more dishes, but are afraid that during this time the already laid one may “sour” and give an unpleasant smell,
  • An alternative to the previous option is to start a wash with an underloaded machine. A special “half load” mode can help here.

A good delay is the delay start timer - this is a standard feature that is present in most modern models. The presence of a timer allows you to start the process of washing dishes at a set time, which is especially in demand in the presence of a two-tariff meter (i.e., a reduced cost of electricity at night).

In expensive dishwashers, you can also meet the function of automatically determining the hardness of water, which allows you to correctly use softening salt. In the models of the cheap and middle segment, the salt consumption is set by the user manually, and it is proposed to find out the hardness of the water yourself.

Leakage protection

Finally, the last but not least point for many is the protection against leaks. The prospect of pouring in neighbors does not please anyone at all. As with washing machines, the most vulnerable places for leaks are the water supply and discharge hoses, as well as the body of the machine itself.

The casing of the machine is traditionally protected with a pan and a float: in case water gets into the pan, the float rises and turns off the system. Hose protection is carried out using nested “double” hoses and solenoid valves. If water enters the "external" hose, the protection system is activated and the water supply is interrupted. By the way, such a hose can be installed separately - they are suitable for almost all machines. The presence of complete protection allows you not to worry about potential accidents and calmly put the dishwasher on a delayed start, even if you are not at home.

Conclusions

So, we list again the sequence of steps when choosing a dishwasher.

  • First you need to decide on the built-in and form factor - whether our dishwasher will be wide, narrow or, perhaps, generally compact desktop.
  • Choose one of the options for organizing the internal space - classic or modern. It depends entirely on your personal ideas about convenience, but if in doubt, we would still offer a modern option.
  • If you are uncompromising in approach to the quality of washing, take a closer look at the upper sprayer: the “rocker” is preferable to the nozzle. If you are a supporter of everything new and unknown, a lover of experiments - look for a dishwasher with a more original than the rocker design of the lower spray.
  • If the speed of getting clean and dry dishes is important, you will need a dishwasher with a turbo dryer (if not, feel free to take a conventional dish with a convection one, this will save quite a substantial amount).
  • If the dishwasher with convection drying can open the door at the end of washing - this is a useful function, the dishes will dry faster. But, again, the question is whether speed is important to you at all.
  • Lazy and squeamish should pay attention to dishwashers with a self-cleaning filter, otherwise it will have to be removed and cleaned by hand from time to time.
  • Different dishwashers have different energy consumption and water consumption, but, frankly, it’s hard for us to imagine a domestic consumer who would base his choice on these factors. If you are confident in the quality of hot water in the water supply, you can look at the models that connect to hot water - this is a way to save really a lot of electricity.
  • Convenience of management is highly dependent on personal preferences, so there are no alternatives to inspection. As a consolation, we can say that we have not yet seen a single dishwasher, the management of which would not allow washing the dishes :)
  • All modern models have the usual, intensive, delicate and fast programs. If you want to save energy by using a nightly rate, make sure your dishwasher has a delayed start. If you do not start washing immediately after installation, a rinse program will be helpful. If you often need to wash a very small amount of dishes, make sure that the dishwasher supports half-load.
  • Modern dishwashers are basically quite low-noise units, so if the machine is in the kitchen, then you are likely to be satisfied with any. If the kitchen is combined with the living room, it is better to choose a particularly quiet one, with a noise level of 45 dB or lower.
  • It is not worth saving on leakage protection. If it is possible that it was complete (both the body and hoses) - this is the best option.

How to choose a dishwasher

Buying is profitable in the long term, because After spending a significant amount, after a few months it pays off by saving electricity, water and time, and most importantly takes care of the condition of the hands and health of family members.

In addition, the dishwasher is more effective than manual labor - the dishes are washed thoroughly at a temperature of 45-60 degrees, which allows you to clean even difficult to contaminate surfaces (for example, covered with dried fat).

To evaluate dishwashers, you need to pay attention to the eco-label, which must be indicated by the manufacturer on a typewriter. Eco-label contains information on environmental indicators: energy consumption, drying and washing processes.

Be sure to indicate the indicators of water flow, noise and noise reduction, the size of the tank for dishes (max number of dishes). These indicators should be considered when buying:

  1. Size and dimensions of the dishwasher. Maximum capacity. This criterion is relevant for families with small kitchens and complex room designs.

Kitchen appliances are designed in three sizes:

  • size 45 × 55 × 45 cm, designed for 4-5 sets of dishes.

A miniature view, they cope with tasks within established boundaries, as water is supplied in them in only one direction - one sprinkler, but they cost much less and fit into a small kitchen,

  • size 45 × 45 × 45 cm: designed for 8-9 sets of dishes, they are distinguished by good performance even with objectively strong workloads, but require more space,
  • size 60 × 60 × 856 are designed for 12-14 sets of dishes, such a dishwasher has large dimensions. They are perfect for large families (5-6 people) and with sufficient sizes, the kitchens will be in harmony with the rest of the kitchen appliances.

  1. Power consumption. Efficiency of technological processes. The dishwasher reduces water consumption (14-20 liters with a maximum load of 12-14 sets versus 35-40 liters with a manual washing of the same number of dishes).

In addition, detergents used in manual washing, under any conditions, spoil the skin of the hand, and with latent allergies can cause serious illness.

Such an impressive effect of water consumption is provided by class A machines that dominate the Russian market, so there is essentially no choice.

However, in experiments with “exotic” modes and frequent loading, several batches of dishes consume a significant amount of energy (for example: 1-2 kW on average per cycle of a full load).

The cost of a “dishwasher” directly depends on the number of modes in it, on quality. In the middle class device, on average, 8-10 modes are more than enough for a family of 5-6 people:

  • Normal - mandatory mode for washing ordinary dishes at 65 degrees,
  • Intensive - a mode for washing dirty dishes, in which the water temperature reaches 75 degrees,
  • "Economy" saves water and energy by reducing washing time,
  • “Accelerated” - a program designed for 40 minutes - 1 hour washing of tea utensils or sets with minimal pollution,
  • “Bio” is an environmentally friendly mode that uses a gentle stream of water and special detergents that even cope with severe pollution of the surface of dishes, even without temperatures above 45 degrees,
  • Special modes “after food”, “rinsing”, washing the elements of household appliances (parts of blenders, juicers, mixers, etc.).

  1. Noise level. This indicator directly depends on the price category of equipment. The higher it is, the more expensive the squelch is installed in the car.

  1. Drying system. Depending on the price category, there is also a drying process:
  • Way condensation water on the walls of the chamber with the gradual evaporation of water is used in inexpensive dishwashers. It takes a lot of time, which reduces the quality of cleaning in intensive or fast mode.

Some models use humidified air pumping technology to speed up the process.

  • System "DurboDry" uses air heating technology, which carries out the drying process. Some models have a special fan that blows through the dishes.
  • Heat exchange system It is considered the most viable with the active use of the dishwasher, because room temperature air is supplied to the chamber from the back or from the side wall: part of the moisture condenses, part - is discharged through the pipe into the sewer.

The device and principle of operation of the dishwasher

The machine draws water 1-4 times - depending on the selected program. During the washing cycle, the accumulated water passes through a pressure-boosting pump, through a heating element, through a softening filter and enters the nozzles fixed under each basket with utensils. The speed of the water jets, and, ultimately, the speed of washing and the cleanliness of the dishes, depend on the power of the feed pump. Unfortunately, manufacturers rarely indicate pump power, it can only be judged indirectly - by the power of the machine itself.

Rotating, the sprayers pour water into the baskets with jets of water, after which the water flows to the bottom of the machine and then - through the strainer - into the reservoir, from where it again enters the pump. At the end of the washing cycle, water flows into the sewer, and the machine proceeds to the next cycle.

In the washing cycle, the machine adds detergent to the water, and in the rinsing cycle it adds rinse aid and checks the water with a water purity sensor (if any).

Dishwasher specifications

Capacitydetermines how many sets of dishes fit in the machine. A set refers to four plates (for salad, for soup, for the second and for bread), a cup or glass, a spoon and a fork.

But, firstly, the capacity of the machine in 10 sets does not mean that 12 will not fit in it - they will fit in, they just wash it worse. And secondly, there is no clear standard - what size these plates can be - which is what manufacturers often use, adding 1-2 sets to the capacity with the same volume of the washing chamber.

There are several typical sizes of dishwashers and their corresponding capacities:

If the machine has standard dimensions, but its capacity is indicated on the kit more, then most likely it is just a marketing move, and it should not be given special significance to the supposedly larger capacity.

We must not forget about pots and pans - you do not want to wash them by hand? A large pot takes 3-4 sets of capacity. Therefore, a capacity of 6 sets is only suitable for a small family. For an average family, the best option would be a car with a capacity of 10 sets.

The European habit of saving resources has not yet reached Russia, and water consumption per cycle few pay attention. However, this value is approximately the same for all machines of the same capacity, and it is not worth choosing a “dishwasher” for consumption. The only thing that can be noted is that any machine will spend much less water on washing dishes than it does with a manual wash.

Energy consumption per cycle It helps to estimate the cost of one wash (and make sure that the nerves are more expensive), but this parameter does not take into account the duration of the cycle, therefore it is better to choose a machine by its power. Maximum power consumption "Dishwasher" speaks of the power of its pump and heater.

The more powerful the machine, the more expensive it is, but the faster the wash will go.Due to the shorter washing time, the energy consumption per cycle of a powerful “dishwasher” can be even less than that of a low-power one, so that over time a high price can pay off.

Washing class and drying class talk about the cleanliness of washed and dried dishes. The higher the washing class, the better the dirt will be removed from the dishes, and the higher the drying class, the fewer drops of water or traces of it left on the dishes.

It should be noted that almost all modern machines have washing and drying classes no worse than “A” and ensure cleanliness acceptable in everyday life. The washing and drying classes “A +” and, especially, “A ++”, will be required only if increased requirements are imposed on the cleanliness of the dishes.

Drying type determines how quickly, how high quality and under what conditions will be dried.

At the end of the condensation drying process, it is recommended to open the machine door.

Condensation drying - The oldest and most common type of drying. Before drying, the dishes are rinsed with hot water, after which the water is drained and the dishes dry out naturally - drops of water evaporate from the hot dishes, settle on the cold walls of the washing chamber and drain to the bottom.

The advantage of this method is its simplicity - in fact, this type of drying does not require any additional elements, so machines with a condensation type of drying are cheaper.

The disadvantages of this type are a long time and not the best drying quality - moisture is somehow removed from vertical surfaces, but drops and even pools of water can remain on horizontal surfaces. Residual high humidity in the chamber can lead to an unpleasant odor, therefore, on models with such drying, it is recommended to open the door after washing to allow the chamber to dry completely.

Some models may open the door automatically.

Convection drying or drying heat exchanger accelerates natural drying by creating a convective movement of air inside the chamber. A cold water heat exchanger located at one of the walls of the washing chamber cools the surrounding air. Cold air flows down, in its place comes the air heated by the residual heat of the dishes.

Sometimes convective drying is carried out using the ventilation holes at the bottom and top of the chamber, opening during drying. Cold outside air enters through the lower holes, warming up, rises up and out through the upper. Models with convective drying are a little more expensive, but drying in them is more efficient.

Turbo dryer- the most effective type of drying. Turbo-drying models are equipped with a heating element and fan. The heater heats the air, the fan drives it through the chamber, providing fast and high-quality evaporation of moisture. The disadvantages of this type of drying are the high cost and increased energy consumption.

For effective washing, the water must be soft. In addition, hard water leads to the appearance of scale on the heater and its rapid failure. Therefore, an ion-exchange filter is built into most dishwashers. When water passes through it, positively charged ions of magnesium and calcium settle on the particles of the resin, and the water is saturated with negatively charged sodium ions and becomes softer.

But over time, the resin loses its properties, and it must be regenerated with a salt solution - sodium chloride. For this, the dishwasher's ion exchanger is equipped with a salt tank, which should be kept full. The fact that the salt has come to an end is indicated by an indicator of the presence of salt.

The degree of salt consumption per wash is usually set manually depending on the hardness of the water - for this you should find out the hardness of your tap water and set the regulator in accordance with the manual. But if the machine has a function of automatic determination of hardness, it will adjust the flow of salt on its own.

Modes and Programs

The degree of contamination of the dishes can be different, so even the most budgetary models have several washing programs, depending on the state of the dishes:

Expert program used for faster washing, usually applied to lightly soiled dishes.

Economical programIt is designed for maximum savings of water and electricity, but you should be prepared for the fact that such a program will work much longer. The washing quality in this mode may also be worse.

Intensive washing program, available on some machines, suggests an increased temperature of the water during washing. The power consumption in this mode is increased, in addition, it is better not to wash plastic and thin-walled glass dishes in this mode - high temperatures can damage the dishes.

Delicate program, on the contrary, it is intended for fragile dishes that are “afraid” of high temperatures. The quality of washing in this mode will be worse, but at a temperature of 40-45 ° C, characteristic for this mode, you can even wash dishes that are not intended for washing in ordinary "dishwashers".

Rinse mode Designed for quick washing without the use of detergents. It is used to “refresh” clean, but for some time, unused dishes.

Without preliminary soaking with dried mud, the dishwasher will not cope.

Pre-soak mode - one of the most important modes of dishwashers. The fact is that all "dishwashers" effectively clean only fresh dirt. If the machine does not have a pre-soak mode, the dishes will either have to be washed immediately after eating, or soaked in the sink until “hands reach” or the required amount is accumulated. And with burnt food without preliminary soaking, most machines will not cope even in intensive washing mode.

Half load mode also applies to saving modes, but its efficiency is no worse than that of a standard sink. In this mode, only one of the two dish baskets is washed, which allows to halve the consumption of water and detergent. Accordingly, there is such a regime only with full-size “dishwashers” with two baskets.

Hot water connectivity saves on electricity - such models spend less energy on heating water to the desired temperature. But the ubiquitous installation of water meters negates the meaning of this function - the difference in the price of hot and cold water is much greater than the cost of heating cold water with electricity. If you have a hot water meter, this function is better not to use.

Noise level A dishwasher can also be an important criterion for choosing - if you have a studio apartment or if the kitchen is located close to the bedroom. In this case, it is better to choose a car with a low noise level (up to 45 dB).

How to choose a narrow dishwasher 45 cm wide

When choosing a dishwashing technique, it is important to consider not only the quality of the result, but also several parameters. We’ll show you how to choose a built-in dishwasher.

  1. type of instalation
There are two types of models on the market - built-in and freestanding. At the stage of planning the space and ordering a kitchen set, it is better to choose an integrated device. In this case, you can foresee the installation location and order an additional facade on the door of the dishwasher. Freestanding models are a good choice if the kitchen is already installed.
  2. Number of sets
The consumption of water, electricity and the regularity of loading depend on this parameter. Select a narrow machine, taking into account the number of people in the family. For single or family of two people, it is better to buy a device for 2-3 sets. For families of 3-4 people, a machine for 8-9 sets is suitable, for large families - from 10 sets.
  3. Additional functions
Here you can remember the rule: the more programs, the easier it is to choose the right one for any type of dishes. For families with children, equipment with locking the door and panel from opening or accidental pressing is suitable. If you prefer to wash the dishes immediately, rather than accumulate 1-2 days, a machine with a half load function will do. Such devices determine the weight, they themselves select the right amount of water, reducing its consumption.

Which is better: dishwasher 45 or 60 cm? 45 cm wide technology takes up less space. But when loading, you will have to spend time to determine the optimal arrangement of plates, pans, so that the quality of the wash is not lost. Suitable for small rooms. If the area of the kitchen allows a large family to live in the apartment, the house, you can choose a device 60 cm wide.

When deciding which equipment to choose, you can study the reviews, ask the owners questions in specialized forums.

The rest of the devices considered in the review are almost as good as the leaders in assembly quality, washing and functionality.

Built-in dishwashers

The arsenal of built-in cars contains the most obvious plus, reflecting their name: they are built into the concept of the kitchen, creating a harmonious unity with it.

From other types of dishwashers, potential buyers are frightened by the fear of bulkyness, lapis combination of elements and the inconvenience of placing elements of the decor of the kitchen.

In this case, given the fact that most manufacturers follow a unified standard of sizes, it is not difficult to choose a matching headset and dishwasher.

Many companies, for example, bosch, produce headsets with the ability to embed other types of household appliances. Three heights: 45, 60 and 82 cm.

Dimensions and capacity

The main criteria for choosing a dishwasher are its size and capacity, which means you need to consider two factors - the size of the kitchen and the amount of dishes that are supposed to be washed daily.

According to their dimensions, dishwashers are divided into:

Full sized.

Narrow.

Compact.

The capacity of the dishwashers available on the market today varies from 4 to 14-15 sets of dishes (a set of dishes usually means a set of three different-sized plates, a glass (glass), a cup and saucer, a fork, a knife and three spoons).

Full-size models of dishwashers

Standard (full-sized) models of dishwashers are designed primarily for large families. Having a size of 60x60x85 cm (width x depth x height), they allow you to simultaneously wash 12-14 sets of dishes. (Is this too much in your opinion? But do not forget that you have to load in the dishwasher not only plates, glasses and spoons, but also pots, pans and other kitchen utensils used in the cooking process.)

In addition to greater spaciousness, full-size cars have another advantage - they usually have a more complete set of functions and many additional options.

Narrow Dishwasher Models

For owners of small kitchens, where the struggle is for every centimeter of free space, finding a place for a full-sized dishwasher can be difficult. Manufacturers of household appliances offer their solution to this problem - narrow models of dishwashers. At standard heights and depths (85 cm and 60 cm, respectively), they have a smaller width - about 45 cm.

The capacity of narrow cars in comparison with full-size ones, of course, is also less - 8-10 sets. This corresponds to the needs of two or three people, so such cars are ideal, for example, for senior citizens or newlyweds, in extreme cases - for families with one child. It is the narrow models of dishwashers that are most popular in Russia, because it is still easier to find a place in a small kitchen, which, alas, is still the main disaster for most apartments in our country.

Compact Dishwasher Models

Compact models of dishwashers are miniature champions. They have more than modest dimensions - about 45x55x45 cm, so they can even be placed on a working kitchen table. The capacity of compact models, of course, is also very modest - only 4-6 sets of dishes. Such dishwashers are suitable for bachelors and newlyweds, provided that they often dine outside the house and even more so do not arrange too frequent feasts for a large number of guests.

Types of dishwashers by installation method

According to the installation method, all dishwashers available on the market today can be divided into:

  • Fully recessed.
  • Partially recessed.
  • Freestanding.
  • Compact desktop.

Functionally, all of them are no different from each other. To give preference to a particular variety, you just need to analyze which model is easier to integrate into an existing or just designed kitchen interior.

Fully recessed

Fully built-in dishwashers fit easily into almost any kitchen interior: the appliances are hidden behind a decorative furniture panel, which means that only the owners will know about its existence. The control panel for such models is located on the upper end of the door.

Since the display is hidden from the user's eyes, some manufacturers (Bosch, AEG, Siemens) offer an interesting solution - projecting the display image on the floor. However, such a function can hardly be called very necessary, rather it is a fun and expensive toy.

Freestanding

The main advantage of a free-standing dishwasher is that it can be placed in any corner of the kitchen - wherever it suits you. However, in this case, you already have to think about how the new appliances fit well into the interior of the kitchen. The colors of the dishwasher cases do not differ in a wide variety - white, silver, black ... (however, these colors are so universal that you can probably find a solution suitable for your kitchen).

Tabletop

Desktop dishwashers are usually purchased only in extreme cases, when full-size equipment cannot be placed in a small kitchen. Their only advantage - compactness (45x55x45 cm) - is not able to compensate for a bunch of existing shortcomings.

Firstly, such machines are designed for only 4 sets of dishes. Secondly, the quality of washing in them often desires the best. And thirdly, and this, perhaps, the most important thing, they will not be able to wash large baking sheets and pans. And if you still have to manually scrub the dirtiest dishes, a reasonable question arises: why then a dishwasher?

Dish baskets and trays

Most dishwashers have two pull-out baskets (pallets) for dishes, occasionally a third is added to them. The exception is compact models, the owners of which have to be content with one basket.

The design and specialization of these pallets for different models of dishwashers is generally similar, although almost every manufacturer has its own nuances. The lower basket is intended for plates and large kitchen utensils (pots, pans, baking trays, etc.), the upper one - for cups, glasses, glasses. In the third, highest, pallet, which is not available on all models of dishwashers, knives, ladles, cutlery are loaded.

Each basket is equipped with all kinds of holders and racks, the purpose of which is the convenience of placing dishes and ensuring the quality of their washing. Correctly placed and evenly distributed dishes allow water to penetrate into each click and, therefore, quickly wash away all contaminants.

Folding or removable holders will be a useful option, as well as the ability to adjust the height of the basket. This allows you to load the largest items into the dishwasher.

Quality of washing and drying dishes

The quality of dishwashing quality is assigned to a specific model of the dishwasher class - from A to C. The best result is shown by class A models: the dishes are removed from them perfectly clean and dry.On dishes that are issued at the finish of a model with a lower class (B or C), there may be minor residues of dirt and / or moisture. You can find out which washing class is assigned to your model from the documentation that comes with it.

If you want to remove dishes from your dishwasher whose cleanliness matches your idea of ideal, then you should take into account several important aspects:

1. In order for the dishes to shine clean, but your dishwasher does not use up too much water and electricity, you should correctly select the mode that is most suitable for solving the problem facing your equipment at the moment. Most dishwashers have 4 washing modes (there may be more, but you will most likely use these in fact): fast mode - for less soiled dishes, economical (55 ° C) - for medium soiled dishes, intensive (65 -75 ° C) - for very dirty dishes.

If the dishes are so dirty that you doubt their effective cleaning even in intensive mode, it is recommended to turn on the pre-soak mode.

2. To facilitate the operation of the dishwasher and to prevent clogging of the filters, before placing the dishes in the machine, large food debris should be removed from the plates, for example, washed under a tap.

3. The quality of the washing (as well as the durability of the dishwasher!) Depends on the hardness of the water associated with the presence of calcium and magnesium salts in it. To soften the tap water in many models of dishwashers, it is passed through a special filter filled with ion-exchange resin.

If an ion exchanger is not provided in your machine, a special regenerating salt will help soften the water, which must be regularly poured into the designated compartment. The amount of regenerating salt that needs to be added before starting the cycle depends on the degree of hardness of the water.

Some companies engaged in the manufacture of household appliances, complete with a dishwasher, offer indicator strips to control this parameter. But the most optimal option is the presence of an automatic indicator of water hardness in the dishwasher itself.

4. In order to minimize the residual amount of detergents on the dishes, to preserve their shine and to prevent the appearance of cloudy streaks, it is necessary to regularly fill in a special container located on the door of the machine with a liquid rinse aid that will automatically be added to the water during the rinsing stage. If you try to save on rinse aid, your glassware will quickly fade. However, it is unlikely that you will do this: the savings in this case will be ghostly, because the rinse aid consumption is only 3 ml per cycle (i.e., about 1 liter per year).

Drying efficiency is sometimes evaluated separately, on the basis of which the machine is assigned a class from A to G.

The speed and quality of drying dishes in the dishwasher is determined primarily by the way this process is implemented:

Turbo dryer. The highest drying class - A - is ensured if the dishes are dried with hot air forced by a fan. This so-called turbo-drying is the most energy-consuming, but provides the best result.

Condensation drying. When condensation drying is used in many inexpensive models of dishwashers, the moisture evaporated from plates and glasses condenses on the colder walls of the machine and simply flows down into a special compartment. This process is long, but more energy efficient, since drying is carried out without the consumption of electricity.

Drying with heat exchanger - a type of condensation drying. Moisture condensation in this case is carried out not on the walls of the machine, but on the cold circuit of the heat exchanger. In terms of speed, quality and energy consumption, this type occupies an intermediate position between condensation and turbo-drying. Drying occurs faster than conventional condensation, and in this case there are no traces of dried drops. Excessively much electricity, as with turbo-drying, is not consumed, since air circulation is carried out without the use of a fan. But dishwashers with a heat exchanger are more expensive.

Sensory drying - This is a turbo dryer, but carried out under the strict control of sensors. Thanks to the sensors, the amount of energy consumed is reduced to a truly necessary level, and the process time is also significantly reduced. Of course, cars with the SensorDry system are expensive.

Zeolite drying. The most economical and effective way to dry dishes today is zeolite drying, the principle of which is based on the ability of the natural zeolite mineral to absorb moisture. This technology is implemented in the NEFF, Siemens and Bosch models.

Connection to cold or hot water supply

Already at the stage of choosing a dishwasher, it's time to think about its subsequent connection. Future users should be aware that some models can only be connected to the cold water main, while others can be connected to hot and cold water at the same time.

The first option, according to experts, is preferable, since cold tap water contains less impurities, rust, etc. than hot. Of course, fat from dirty plates and pans will not be washed off with cold water, but the dishwasher itself can heat cold water to the desired temperature. However, this also leads to the main drawback of this type of connection: a dishwasher in its work will consume much more electricity.

The “hot-cold" type of connection is more energy efficient: you can significantly save on heating water. It remains only for a moment to think about what is contained in hot water besides water itself. If the quality of hot tap water in your city / town does not scare you, we recommend that you purchase a dishwasher that matches this particular type of connection.

How to choose the appropriate functionality and options

The first thing all buyers who choose a dishwasher pay attention to, without exception, are its dimensions and capacity. The next object of their attention is the set of programs that this technique is able to execute.

All models of dishwashers have several washing modes, first of all we are talking about standard, quick and intensive washing. Each dishwasher model has its own capabilities, so when choosing, focus on your preferences. Ask, for example, how long the quick wash cycle lasts, or how much energy the machine consumes when operating in economy mode.

But the above washing modes are the minimum set of functions that even the simplest machines have. More "advanced" (and therefore more expensive) models may have a number of additional functions.

Type of control - electromechanical or electronic

The functions and settings available in the machine are selected using the control system, which can be electromechanical (with conventional buttons and rotary switches) or electronic (with touch buttons and a convenient display).

Dishwashers with an electromechanical control system are more suitable for older people. The latter, the traditional buttons and conventional light indicators are more familiar, which means it will be easier to master the new technique. Another undoubted advantage of machines with an electromechanical type of control is the relatively low price.

Electronically controlled dishwashers, as a rule, have a display, more and more often not just informational, but touch or touch buttons. The menu on the display will help you choose the most suitable program and temperature mode. The display also shows information on the time remaining until the end of the wash, on the presence of detergents and rinse aid in the tanks, on the hardness of the water used, as well as information on malfunctions, if any.

Electronic "brains" are equipped with dishwashers with a large number of functions, so the high price of such models is a consequence not only of the presence of beautiful and informative screens.

Useful programs

When choosing a dishwasher, we recommend that you first focus on the availability of those programs that you really will use daily. In this case, we are talking primarily about the basic washing modes, which we have already mentioned above: economy mode, fast or intensive washing modes.

In addition to the standard, there are a number of special programs designed for washing this or that type of dishes.

Here are just a few of them, the most useful and most interesting:

1. Function “Delay start” allows you to delay the time the machine is turned on. The dishwasher will start to work automatically at the designated, most convenient time for you (for example, at night). A similar feature is available in almost all modern dishwashers. You can choose a car with a delayed start for 3, 6 or 9 hours or a model with a 24-hour timer.

2. Mode Half load Useful when dirty dishes have accumulated too little, at least not enough to fully load. This feature is especially useful in large, roomy models. Washing in this mode is faster, water and energy consumption are reduced, the load on the machine components is reduced and, therefore, their wear is reduced.

3. The program may seem very useful "Automatic washing". When activated, the dishwasher itself will assess the degree of contamination of the dishes and, based on this, will calculate the time, temperature (from 40 to 75 degrees) and the intensity of the washing.

4. Mode "Delicate Wash" designed for gentle washing of crystal or fragile glass products. Water in this mode does not heat above 30-45 degrees.

5. Babycare - A special program that provides a very high-quality washing and disinfection of milk bottles and other children's dishes, as well as all kinds of children's accessories and toys.

6. Function "Sterilization" allows you to kill all the germs that can remain on the dishes even after washing in hot water without the use of aggressive chemicals. In different models, sterilization can be implemented in various ways, for example, by steaming or using ultraviolet radiation.

7. Bio programs will be relevant for you if you plan to use special detergents that contain enzymes that effectively break down fats. Special programs in this case are required, since most enzymes work at a moderate (40-50 degrees) temperature, but they die in hot water.

Technical solutions

Engineers not only initially create, but then periodically improve many components of any complex equipment, including dishwashers. Thanks to this, new models become more convenient, more efficient, more economical, quieter than their predecessors. That is why when choosing a dishwasher, it will not be superfluous to pay attention to the individual elements of its design.

Height adjustment box

Have a dishwasher in your home and at the same time manually scrub trays, pans, stewpan and pots, i.e. the dirtiest dishes - a little stupid, agree. But such large-sized items, as a rule, are hardly placed in the dishwasher basket or do not even fit at all. So that you do not encounter such a dilemma, we recommend that you take a closer look at models with height-adjustable baskets.Raising the upper box, you thereby increase the usable volume of the lower, and therefore your chance to stuff a large pan there.

Some manufacturers equip their equipment with a Rackmatic system to easily move boxes. With it, you can easily raise the upper basket to the desired height, even if it is full of dishes.

And another nice innovation for users who put comfort at the forefront is the unique ComfortLift hoist. On models with the ComfortLift system, the extension mechanism of the lower box is supplemented by a lifting mechanism. This will allow you to raise the lower basket to the level of the upper one with a single movement of your hand, which means that you do not have to bend down when loading and unloading dishes.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger is a special element that provides significant energy savings. It is a block consisting of two separate circuits along which water circulates. One of these circuits is filled with cold water coming from the water supply system, the second with hot water remaining after the previous stage of the cycle. The hot circuit gives off its heat to the cold.

Thus, the waste water does not immediately drain into the sewer, but helps to slightly warm the cold water entering the tank. In other words, the heat exchanger allows you to accumulate the remaining heat and use it in the subsequent washing cycle. Due to this, the amount of electricity spent on heating the water to the desired temperature is reduced, which increases the energy efficiency class of the machine.

The heat exchanger is used not only for preheating a fresh portion of water, but also for drying dishes, as we mentioned above. This option for drying dishes is considered one of the most economical and quiet.

Water spray systems

Tightly loaded baskets can cause deterioration in dishwashing quality. And here all kinds of nozzles for spraying water come to the rescue. They will ensure the penetration of water into the most inaccessible slots and thereby help to better wash all dishes.

Sprayers of a wide variety of forms, guaranteeing high quality dishwashing, orbital washing system, which ensures uniform distribution of water throughout the chamber, alternating water supply, which creates an optimal balance between washing quality and water flow and provides an excellent result for washing dishes at all levels of its placement - which just did not come up with engineers from leading companies to improve their products (and, sadly, increase its value).

The most common water distribution system consists of rockers located at the top and bottom of the sink. During rotation, they create an abundant water stream, which, falling on the dishes, washes away all its dirt. The system is simple and quite efficient.

Lower rocker:

Upper Rocker:

The orbital water spray system ensures even distribution of water jets throughout the chamber. The system consists of two rockers, large and small, which is fixed at the end of the large. According to manufacturers, the advantages of such a system lies in the fact that it is able to more carefully deliver water to inaccessible areas. This is its main difference from a single beam system.

In the off state, the system looks like this:

The trajectory of the rocker arm has the following form:

Self-cleaning filter

Water is our most valuable resource, and you need to treat it carefully, regardless of the cost of a cubic meter from your supplier. When using the dishwasher to save water (as well as the energy spent on its heating) will help its reuse. Of course, in order to reuse water that has already been in the cycle, it must be cleaned by passing through a special filter. Since only a clean filter can guarantee good washing quality, it must be cleaned periodically.

Even if your dishwasher does not provide for the reuse of waste water, there is an early filter in it. Otherwise, the leftover food falling into the dishwasher along with the dirty dishes would immediately clog the drain hose, and in the worst case, the sewer pipe.

So, there is a drain filter, regularly clogged with food debris. It must be regularly cleaned mechanically and washed with a stainless steel mesh using hot running water. What will happen if you do not do this? The answer seems to be obvious:

  • water drains more slowly from the dishwasher, the cycle time increases,
  • the load on the various components of the unit will increase, which leads to their premature wear,
  • the washing quality is reduced, the dishes at the exit - in dirty spots and stains,
  • an unpleasant odor appears in the dishwasher, which is a consequence of the rapid multiplication of numerous pathogenic microorganisms.

It sounds scary, but regularly manually cleaning the desire filter still does not appear ... Many medium and high price dishwashers have long been able to cope with this task without human intervention! And all thanks to self-cleaning filters installed on them. The principle of operation of such a filter is quite simple: food residues deposited in a special collector are rubbed and simply washed off into the drain.

Heavy wash area

Do you want to “bathe” delicate items from thin glass and at the same time clean the most dirty dishes - baking sheets, pans, pans? The intensive washing zone, usually located at the lower level, will make this task a solvable wave. In this zone, water is simply supplied under a higher pressure, and this is exactly what is needed to wash a thick layer of fat from a saucepan or a baking sheet.

With the AquaVario function, which is implemented in some Bosch models, the dishwasher can automatically adjust the water pressure depending on the degree of contamination of the dishes and the program selected by the user.

Inverter motors

Inverter motors are gaining more and more popularity among owners of dishwashers and other household appliances. And this is not surprising, because such an engine helps to increase the reliability and efficiency of the dishwasher on which it is installed.

But the main advantage of the inverter motor from the point of view of the ordinary consumer is not even this, but the low noise level created during its operation. In most machines equipped with inverter motors, the noise level does not exceed 35-40 dB. This is especially true for owners of apartments and houses with an open plan, because many people put off washing dishes at night.

Lighting

Lighting the working chamber is a very useful option, but it is provided, alas, by no means in all models. Lighting makes working with the dishwasher more convenient, facilitating the loading and sorting of dirty dishes and the unloading of freshly washed. Why many manufacturers refuse such a useful function for the consumer is not clear, because it is easy to implement, and its presence does not practically affect the cost of the final product.

What can and cannot be loaded into the dishwasher

Every future owner of the dishwasher should take into account that you can wash a lot in it, but not all. For example, wood products — wooden bowls, spoons, cutting boards — are not automatically washed: after such a test, the wood becomes rough and therefore very unsightly.

You should not load silver cutlery, aluminum, brass and tin products into the dishwasher: under the influence of detergents, their surfaces become dull and it will be very difficult to achieve the initial shine.

If you decide to send glasses and wine glasses made of crystal or thin-walled glass to the dishwasher, select a delicate program and fix the dishes using special holders. This will protect the glass from tarnishing due to contact with hot water and from cracking due to contact with other objects. Caution should also be taken with faience, porcelain, and objects with a fragile pattern. At low temperatures, plastic dishes will also have to be washed - with strong heating, they can become deformed.

Leakage protection systems

The main nuisance that can lie in wait for every owner of a dishwasher (as well as a washing machine) is water leakage. To protect you and your neighbors from the "flood" and related problems, the leakage protection system, which almost all manufacturers equip their products with today, will help.

Each model has its own level of protection, which is determined, inter alia, by its price category. The multi-stage leakage protection system includes additional body protection, multi-layer hoses, water quantity sensors, special valves that stop the flow of water in case of detection of problems, pumping out pumps.

How much will all this help save from the "flood"? Bosch and Siemens, for example, are so confident in the quality of their products that they promise to compensate for all costs if a “flood” does occur. Russian fans of "maybe" should remember, however, that any warranty applies only to qualified equipment.

Door lock

If your family has a small child, choosing a dishwasher, take care of the presence of her “child protection” function. This function provides the ability to lock the control panel so that playful handles do not knock down all the settings, as well as the presence of a special lock that blocks the door so that the baby cannot peep into the car during its operation.

Some manufacturers decided not to equip their equipment with a special lock, but implemented the child protection function in a different way: when the door is opened, the washing process automatically stops, and it will be resumed only after it is closed. Such a decision could only occur to people who have never had children. It is not a solution to the problem, because, regardless of whether the process is stopped or not, access to the inside of the chamber in the middle of the cycle can cause burns with steam and / or hot water.

Energy efficiency

In accordance with the current European standard, each model of a dishwasher (as well as any other household appliance) for a comparative assessment by the consumer of its energy efficiency is assigned a class, denoted by Latin letters from A to G. The higher the class, the lower the energy consumption. A class A dishwasher should use less than 1.06 kW • h for washing 12 sets of dishes.

To date, the highest energy efficiency class A +++ has been assigned to some Bosch, Siemens, Candy, Hotpoint, ASKO dishwasher models. But the record holders are not they, but individual Miele models, which have a class A +++ - 20% and consume about half as much energy as ordinary dishwashers with class A.

To achieve a high level of profitability with the dishwasher, a number of technologies are involved, and at all stages of the washing. So, for example, simultaneous connection to cold and hot water supply can save up to 50% of electricity. Installation of a heat exchanger in the dishwasher makes it possible to heat the cold water entering the tank and dry the dishes without additional heating.

The intellectual washing program, which consists in optimizing the use of resources depending on load and a differentiated approach to dishes with different degrees of pollution, helped to achieve high energy efficiency indicators for many models of dishwashers. And these are just a few of the tricks of the manufacturers with which they manage to achieve such amazing results.

Modern dishwashers can save not only electricity, but also water. The consumption rate of dishwasher water today is considered to be 17-20 liters per cycle, for highly economical models this figure is reduced to 10-12 liters, and sometimes even lower. Agree, it’s unlikely that you can wash 10-15 sets of dishes by hand with such an amount of water.

Bosch SPV 40E10

One of the most popular and high-quality models of the BOSCH company in the price category for the "middle class". The machine is a classic representative of a narrow floor built-in machine (45 cm).

However, the capacity exceeds the norm for this type: 9 sets per cycle. Class category by parameters (drying, washing, energy consumption) of group “A”.

The model is equipped with electronic control for switching the desired mode, but there is no display with switching backlight and other useful information.

The technology for drying dishes is condensation, there is a special program for protection against leaks, because condensation drying sins this.

pros

  1. Full integration into company headsets and compactness (“narrow floor”),
  2. Capacity (max 9 place settings)
  3. Full leakage protection
  4. The program of economical loading (half and careful), which allows you to save on electricity,
  5. Minimum electricity consumption - consumption of 0.8 kWh,
  6. Damage protection and protection program for children,
  7. Timer with delayed loading (varies from 3 to 10 hours).

Minuses

  1. Condensing drying system, consuming more (compared to others) electricity. Due to the pressure during water drainage, leakage is possible when the protection mode is broken,
  2. Limited set of programs (4 types),
  3. Noise reduction (about 52 dB). The upper rockers create a low-frequency hum, which prevents nighttime use for families with young children or a sensitive dream,
  4. The back wall is made of plastic. Which leads to an increase in the degree of "noise" of the device.

Rating

Pros still prevail over the cons.

Disadvantages like the appearance of hum or noise were noticed by 2-3 users. Practicality and ease of use have been praised (meaning intuitive controls, regulation of loading times, etc.).

Compact dishwashers

Typical kitchens in the "Khrushchev" or five-story buildings, spread over the territory from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, usually do not exceed an area of 10 × 10, which makes each Russian family carefully approach the issue of choosing household appliances and a headset.

Compact machines are available in three types: built-in, desktop and freestanding. They are a standard size - 45 cm, but some desktops are larger or smaller depending on the manufacturer.

The pricing policy varies depending on the type: built-in are much more expensive than stand-alone, which are more expensive than desktop ones, because last miniature size.

Ginzzu DC261AguaS

Ginzzu does not have the same strong popularity in Russia as Phillips, Tosiba or Bosch. However, in their price category (“below average”), dishwashers are produced according to international standards.

An intermediate position in the ratio of price and quality is DC261AguaS. It is a compact desktop dishwasher, separate from the headset.

Streamlined shape and size (55 + 50 + 44 cm) - the key to the versatility of the device. The maximum load is lower than that of similar models of stationary machines (6 sets versus 8 sets of dishes), but at the level of desktop ones.

There are 3 standard programs ("normal", "express", "intensive") washing and one special ("economy"). The 3 in 1 program allows the use of products designed to thoroughly clean a contaminated surface.

pros

  1. the dishwasher is compact, can fit in the kitchen 10 × 10,
  2. Full leakage protection
  3. Without traces and greasy stains, even in an economical mode,
  4. Maximum load (6 sets), superior to other desktop models,
  5. The noise level during operation does not exceed 49 dB,
  6. The “aqua-stop” option in the event of a machine breakdown (in case the hose breaks).

Minuses

  1. Condensation drying of dishes (see above),
  2. There is no protection option for children - a controversial option for large families with small children,
  3. No timer, beep and display,
  4. A limited set of standard and special programs.

Rating

It is worth noting that these users live alone (“bachelors”) or a family of 2-3 people (young couple). For families of 5-6 people with young children, such a dishwasher, alas, will not fit either in size or in functionality.

Bosch SKS 40E22

To demonstrate the desktop dishwasher, it was decided to choose Bosch SKS 40E22. Quality and intuitive use are an integral characteristic of the company. The inverter type of motor inside the machine makes the washing process quiet (about 54 dB).

Overall dimensions (45 cm) fit into any kitchen (the snow-white color has something in common with other household appliances - a refrigerator, a microwave).

There are additional options, such as leakage protection, program reduction functions (half load option), automatic door closer and more.

Pros:

  1. Compactness and universality of dimensions - the machine fits the interior of modern, classic or minimalism,
  2. Ease of use thanks to automatic doors (to prevent leakage of water and breakdowns),
  3. Increased temperature (option "intensive" - 70 degrees),
  4. Additional options (shortening the program, protection against leaks) that facilitate washing dishes and housekeeping,

Minuses

  1. the price is higher than that of desktop technical devices of other brands,
  2. noise in intensive and fast mode (above 54 dB),
  3. loading indicator - up to 5 sets of dishes, which is enough for the life of a family of 2-3 people or a couple, but not enough for a family of 5-6 people.

Rating:

The user rating varies from 8, 8 to 9 points: users note the quick reaction of the machine, the quality of parts and assembly, as well as the multifunctionality of the washing modes. The plus is the half load mode, which saves time and money.

However, the price segment for the middle-class car is a bit overpriced, but no radical improvements and additional functions are observed. Stability is the main advantage.

Shallow Dishwashers

If the kitchen is small, and there is critically not enough space for a stationary machine, you can pay attention to the class of compact “shallow” dishwashers.

The main advantage is the minimum depth of 50-55 cm. the kitchen appliance is located even in a limited space (cabinet, shelf, etc.). Their price category is lower than that of other types, but the functionality is limited.

Such cars are either desktop or free-standing.

Midea MCFD-0606

A large Chinese home appliance company has recently entered the Russian market, but is already adjusting to the demand and supply of customers. The main advantage of the model is a depth of 50 cm while maintaining standard functionality.

The snow-white color contrasts with the interior black design. The model is free-standing, but the ability to embed with an open panel compensates for the drawback.

A complete complex set of programs: 4 standard programs (“standard”, “fast”, “intensive”, economy ”) and 2 special programs (“ glass ”and“ gentle ”washing).

pros

  1. depth 50 cm - the best indicators on the market,
  2. choice of washing programs (6 modes to choose from),
  3. start delay timer (2, 6, 8 hours),
  4. indicator with information (amount of salt and rinse aid),
  5. silent (49dB).

Minuses

  1. embedding with open panel,
  2. max capacity 6 sets,
  3. no protection program for children - not suitable for a large family with children,

Rating

The most rational choice of a model from a series of “shallow” dishwashers. Users note that it is precisely the depth of 50 cm - the main characteristic that attracted to this model.

But with further use, they found other advantages, for example, an expanded list of washing and drying programs, high-quality dishwashing during the day when loading 2-3 incomplete sets, and silent washing at night, etc.

Indesit DISR 16B

The Italian company Indesit is the largest supplier of household appliances not only in Russia but throughout Europe. The range of DISR dishwashers among narrow analogues has become legendary.

This model is a novelty in the series and is included in the middle "price category". It has ultra-narrow dimensions - 82 + 44.5 + 55, providing it with the position of the built-in model.

The functionality of the kitchen device includes six modes, among which - a notable shortened cycle (40 minutes with a limited time) and a mode for pre-rinsing dishes.

The model provides customers with the opportunity to use “3 in 1” products, which increases the coefficient of benefit from washing dirty surfaces with food debris and greasy marks.

pros

  1. Minimum device width (44.5 cm)
  2. Ease of use achieved through an intuitive electronic interface,
  3. Useful additional options
  4. Extensive selection of programs and modes,

Minuses

  1. In contrast to the width, the height of the machine is 82 cm, which does not allow you to put it on the countertop or headsets,
  2. The “noise” indicator is above average (51 dB),
  3. Power consumption 1900 watts.

According to reviews, the kitchen appliance seems to be a solid model of the company, from which they expect the proper quality with an objective pricing policy.

The dishwasher performs its functions (including the promised compactness in width and entry into the headset) by 5 points.

3-in-1 Dishwashers

Such machines are distinguished by automation from Calgonit "3 in 1". When washing in this mode, Calgonite solutions are used, including a combination of detergent, a generating role and a rinse aid.

"Dishwasher" is rebuilt on the machine depending on what it is loaded with: each product separately, or a 3-in-1 tablet. The latter saves time and money. The wash cycle adapts to the temperature of the medium, to the product used and other conditions.

BOSCH SMV50E10RU

In addition to the already specified automation and the “3 in 1” function, the machine has impressive dimensions - 59.8 cm wide, 81.5 cm high. Power consumption - 2500 W, per 1.05 kW cycle - the energy class is kept at “A” level .

Ease of use creates an electronic display that displays the condition of the rinse aid, salt and loading status, an audible signal informs about the beginning and end of washing.

pros

  1. Quiet work (47-48 dB)
  2. Touch screen, auto notification, indicator - usability,
  3. Programs for fragile dishes, gentle mode, intensive washing zone,

Minuses

  1. The high cost of components, and, accordingly, repair,
  2. There is no stock of programs and modes expanded for such a cost,
  3. Inconvenient dimensional grid - it will be difficult to squeeze and combine "modern" in the kitchen.

A high-quality machine in its price category, except that some of the functions are found in other machines of the same company, but at more affordable prices.

However, buyers are satisfied with the stability of the work: no breakdowns, leaks, etc. are detected during the warranty period.

Intuitiveness and ease of use - especially for those people who do not spend most of their lives at home and lead an active social and working life.
